About the project
JMac was engaged as principal contractor to deliver the Springfield Central Sports Complex, a multi-purpose community facility designed to support active lifestyles and strengthen local sporting infrastructure. The project provides high-quality amenities for community use, reinforcing Springfield’s growing reputation as a vibrant and well-serviced urban precinct.
Construction of two multipurpose sports fields for rugby league, rugby union, soccer, AFL, cricket and touch football
Construction of 16 competition-level netball courts
Installation of centrally controlled, competition-level LED lighting, including 35‑metre-high field towers and 23‑metre-high netball lighting with base-hinged poles
Construction of sandstone, concrete and masonry retaining walls
Delivery of a custom-designed, multi-aged playground, extensive landscaping, and informal grassed kick‑about areas
Construction of car and coach parking facilities
Delivery of pedestrian and cycle networks across the precinct
Installation of park furniture and wayfinding signage
Roadworks including traffic signals, street lighting and signage
Installation of underground services, drainage, sewerage and water reticulation
Construction of electrical and telecommunications infrastructure
Outcomes
To support the client and mitigate potential delays associated with pending development approvals, JMac implemented an alternative construction program that enabled key elements of the works to commence ahead of schedule. This proactive approach maintained project momentum and reduced overall programme risk while ensuring compliance and quality were upheld throughout delivery.
