About the project

JMac was engaged for the design and redevelopment of Ipswich Mall including constructability advice, product procurement, operational forecasting and local buy content.

Scope

Demolition and removal of 1000m3 of existing pavement

3300m2 of granite pavers laid on concrete substrate

Construction of bridging slab over heritage listed Queensland Rail tunnel, located under project location

Installation of 115 precast and honed seating walls

Installation of 70 bollards

Installation of subterranean communication room

Installation of all new service, stormwater, water, electrical and irrigation infrastructure

Installation of feature lighting with over 100 metres of strip lighting and fairy lights, including programming of DMX feature lighting control system

Planting of 43,400 litre trees

Outcomes

Prior to commencing onsite, JMac completed a subterranean 3D scan which highlighted previously unknown services.

With this new extensive understanding of service locations, the project team ensured no service strikes and maintained services to local businesses throughout the works.

JMac also closely monitored dust and noise levels, ensured continual local access, and undertook night and weekend works where applicable to minimise disruption to local businesses.

As a result of JMac’s detailed planning and collaborative approach, the project was completed prior to Christmas trading.
