About the project

Covering 24 hectares, Robelle Domain was conceived to provide a link between many of Springfield’s major precincts. JMac was engaged as principal contractor for the design and construct contract, managing the project from concept to construction, commissioning and handover.

Scope

Installation of Australian first ICON on GALAXY play equipment that combines play with the excitement of electronic gaming

Construction of a children’s water park including a 700 litre tipping bucket and jet sprays

Construction of a stage and amphitheatre that seats 10,000 people

Creation of a 5000m2 lake and waterfall

Installation of feature lighting, including 9-metre-high artistic light towers and interactive surround sound audio

Construction of 5 kilometres of pedestrian and cycle paths

Construction of custom designed shelters and arbours

Construction of a vehicle bridge, timber pedestrian link bridges, car parks and link roads

Construction of four, 3.5 metre high turfed pyramids

Outcomes

The project was completed lost time injury free across the 150,000 hours worked.

JMac’s value engineering methods reduced the contract value, enabling the client to reinvest funds into the project and increase the original scope.

This included redesigning the tipping bucket and subsequently halving the costs associated.

The project team also identified an opportunity to install 5 kilometres of conduits for future Wi-Fi hotpots and CCTV, minimising future installation costs and impacts.

Testimonial

The application, professionalism and resources from JMac are key reasons that this model has delivered to the expectations of all. Without the relationship based approach from JMac, the projects may not have been delivered to the quality and value that has been achieved.
